Test Engineer - Software Development in Test - SDET - Java - Automation
An exciting new 6 month contract for an experienced Test Engineer (SDET) is available with our market leading Financial Payments Client.
SDET's need to be available to start in the next 3 weeks.
The ideal SDET will have at least 4 years experience in automated software testing using Java in agile environments. The Test Engineer will be joining a New Product Development Team and will make contributions to the test strategy for the product, which is likely to include;
BDD styled cucumber/gherkin /Java based functional system integration testing and non-functional testing (Volume & Performance and Resilience & Availability) .
You will discover ways to break the product that other developers may not have thought of. The majority of your time will be spent identifying which tests should be automated and evaluating how they should be automated.
Key Responsibilities of the SDET
You will use your Java/Agile/TDD/BDD skills to have direct input into the product/ test development.
You will have a solid understanding of Java Development
Involved in automated deployments, test automation, automated regression test packs including frameworks.
Drive innovation in automation at all application tiers including UI, APIs, CLIs, and the database layer.
Essential Skills Required
Previous technical testing experience in an Agile environment (BDD/ATDD is essential)
Ideally Minimum 4 years of experience in Automated software testing using Java
Strong experience of API driven testing
Previous experience in environments include Cucumber JVM, Selenium WebDriver, Restful Services, Java, Maven, Git, Spring, Hibernate ,Apache Tomcat, Jira, Junit, SOAPUI , Agile Scrum/Kanban
A passion for Agile methodologies and concepts such as XP, Lean, Kanban & Scrum
Proven experience working within a complex integration test project that involved establishing end to end work flows (CI / CD)
