My client are a leading integrator of payment and information solutions which mean travellers make smarter travel decisions and transportation agencies manage demand across the entire transportation network are currently in need of a Unix Security and Implementation Engineer.

Key Skills:
Solaris Zones and LDOMs
ZFS and zpools
Solaris Boot environments
Sun/Oracle SPARC based hardware
Sun/Oracle 6000 series storage
Oracle/Pillar Axiom series storage
Sun/Oracle StorageTek Tape Libraries
Fibre channel networks/zoning (preferably Brocade)
Veritas Cluster Server
Veritas NetBackup
Veritas Storage Foundation
Knowledge of LDAP/VAS/QAS/Centrify

Desirable:
Unix Bourne & Korn Shell Scripting, Perl, AWK.
Experience of designing and configuring Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions.
Involvement in capacity planning and capacity
Sun Certified System Administrator

Key responsibilities are as listed:
Maintaining an estate of Sun Unix servers running mission critical customer applications
Configuring and planning of backup, archive and restore using tools such as Veritas Netbackup.
Systems Administration and documentation of Solaris 10 and 11 systems
Disaster recovery design, planning and testing
Managing, implementing and testing SAN systems, disk layout and configurations
Providing 3rd line support, including out of hours support, to critical incidents and participation in on-call IT support rota
