Test Manager / Automation / Agile / Java

Test Manager, Automation, Cucumber, Agile, Java, North West London, Financial Service, Contract

The Test Manager will define the overall test strategy for the project, which is likely to include BDD styled cucumber/gherkin /Java based functional, system integration testing and non-functional testing (Volume & Performance and Resilience & Availability) and help the Delivery Manager & Portfolio Test Manager to create a Quality plan for assuring the delivery of the project using the best practices.

You will work with In-house & vendor testing teams to define the test plans for various test phases and review testing and results to provide input to Product Owner sign off and assurance that the IT delivery is fit for purpose.

The Test Manager will manage automated deployments, test automation, automated regression test packs including frameworks. Provide mentoring to the team and guide them in the use of automation processes and tools. Help to define the strategic direction and roadmap. Effectively manage initiatives across multiple project teams utilising different technologies.

Minimum 8 year's of experience in Automated software testing using Java with last 3 years as a test manager
Highly technical leader with a previous development background or an experienced developer who has previously built automation frameworks from scratch.
Previous technical testing experience in an Agile environment (BDD/ATDD is essential)
Understanding of how-to build quality-in and prevent defects, rather than finding them
Automation testing experience with the ability to create test automation frameworks using open source technologies, such as Selenium Webdriver, Cucumber/JBehave, Gherkin
Experience using continuous Integration tools such as Teamcity, Jenkins, Bamboo
