UI Developer

Job Description

My Client a UK wide government department - responsible for maintaining 17 high profile registers. These registers include, land, property and legal. This company are going through a significant period of growth, and are adding to the team due to expansion. They require a talented UI Developer to join their team for an initial 3 month contract.

The role.
As a UI Developer you will, design solutions using front end technologies, such as , HTML, CSS, JavaScript and you need to like working in an Agile environment. This will result in clear guidance and support, for the development teams to implement scalable systems for external and internal use. You will work as part of an ever evolving design team - while capturing tried and tested UI patterns.


What you will be doing
Working at a consistent and concise level to meet the Scottish Government DPS standards
You will be platform and device independent
Building relationships and working effectively with internal and external providers
Translating designs and prototypes into working interfaces
Providing advice for native browser / device behaviour
Ensuring that front end code authorised is web standard compliant, accessible and responsive and in line with government standards
Creates front end solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining user interfaces
Lead the development of User Interface solutions
Actively participate in all Agile events
Responding to changing requirements in an Agile delivery model
Collaborating on requirements and solutions with the Agile team

Technology
Experience of front-end development technologies:
Valid HTML (4-5)
Valid CSS (2-3) & pre-processing technologies e.g. SASS
JavaScript (bespoke, frameworks and libraries e.g. JQuery, Angular)
Have experience of coding to meet the standards agreed by the wider IT department, including
WAI WCAG (A-AAA)
