A very rare opportunity has arisen within one of our leading clients, a global technology consultancy, who are looking to recruit a Lead Technical Consultant to head up the technical remit for a large scale transformation programme within their Aviation and Defence portfolio. The Technical Lead will be responsible for developing strategic plans and solutions to grow the UK and European footprint of the business, engaging with internal and external customers, providing technical direction to develop client solutions and technical team leadership.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and have a pragmatic hands-on approach to getting the job done. Exceptional leadership and inter-personal skills are essential. You will lead by example and when required be hands with architecture and design deliverables. It is essential you can demonstrate strong design and engineering experience in sector; e.g. Architect, Chief Engineer and Design Lead roles.

- Develop a solution portfolio of offerings with service wraps the client can go to market with
- Develop business cases for R&D initiatives
- Communicate vision and capability offerings to the team and wider company
- Support qualification, positioning, bid and other lead generation activities
- Actively engage with the business and customers to build a positive brand
- Develop and maintain an Engineering governance framework and process
- Provide technical direction to develop fit for purpose and fit for use solutions to clients
- When required, develop designs for high profile or critical pursuit
- Develop and maintain a high performing team to meet the sector and programme objectives
- Coach, mentor and performance manage as and when required
- Manage compliance to processes and other corporate obligations
- Maintain a training plan for staff
