Computer Operations Analyst - LINUX - Scripting/scheduling


Job Description

Major financial services client have an opportunity for a IT Operations Analyst. This is working for a great organisation where career progression and opportunities to learn new technologies is unlimited.

Your role will be to provide support and act as the central point of communications to the Computer Operations area. Administer operational schedules ensuring adequate training and documentation where necessary. You will perform first line support for Quasar/Cache database (training will be given) as well as 2nd and 3rd line support for all scheduling jobs.

Your principal accountabilities will be to design, create and maintain operational procedures, documentation, scripts, scheduling jobs and daily schedules to agreed standards. You will provide 1st line support to the computer operations area, ensuring all tasks are completed and escalate as necessary. You will perform day to day management of the Quasar/Cache system and assist in the configuration of system and performance management tools.

To be considered for this role you will have a background working within Unix/Linux Operations, have strong Perl scripting and have a good understaning of Lniux/Unix with strong knowledge of scheduling. You must be able able to configure schedules.

Any knowledge of Quasar/CACHE would be beneficial.
